i’ve had this scene in my head for a while. a little boy walking out of a forest onto a beach only to discover a dead owl lying right where the sea meets the land. i don’t know why this came to mind, but it did, and i liked it. i asked emily to draw it for me. emily doesn’t like drawing dead animals. she drew the scene for me, but the owl was alive. today i asked ursula to draw it, and she drew the picture above. and it’s perfect. jesus christ.
